In a disturbing incident in Tewkesbury, a woman in a silver car repeatedly asked a 13-year-old girl walking on Station Street if she wanted a lift home. The event occurred on Monday, May 19, at approximately 3:25 pm, between Spring Gardens car park and The Maltings retirement complex.
The woman, described as a white female in her 60s with grey bobbed hair and glasses, approached the teenager by driving alongside her. She claimed to know the girl’s mother and insisted multiple times that the child accept a ride. After the interaction, the woman drove away alone in the vehicle.
Gloucestershire Police have launched an investigation but have yet to determine the woman’s intentions. Police Constable Shay Badra from the Tewkesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team stated they are reviewing CCTV footage and conducting house-to-house inquiries to identify the woman and understand her motive.

“At this stage, it’s unclear whether the woman mistook the child for someone else or if something more concerning was at play,” said PC Badra. Authorities urge anyone who saw the incident or the woman in the silver vehicle to come forward with information to assist the investigation.
