Cheltenham Town’s League Two clash against Gillingham, scheduled for tonight at the EV Charger Points Stadium, has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch caused by Storm Chandra. The severe weather has brought heavy rainfall across the South West, rendering the playing surface unplayable.
The club issued an official statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, confirming the decision: “We regret to inform supporters that tonight’s SkyBet League Two match with Gillingham at the EV Charger Points Stadium has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.”
A pitch inspection took place at 9:30 a.m., where match officials appointed by the English Football League (EFL) assessed the conditions. With no improvement in sight, the officials decided to call off the fixture for safety reasons.
