Cheltenham Town manager Steve Cotterill has been handed a three-match touchline ban after receiving a red card following the final whistle of the 2-2 home draw with Grimsby Town. Cotterill pleaded guilty to a charge of acting in an improper manner and has also been fined £2,250 by an independent Regulatory Commission.
As a result of the ban, Cotterill will be absent from the sidelines for Cheltenham’s upcoming fixtures against Colchester United, Exeter City in the EFL Trophy, and Chesterfield, having to watch from the stands instead.
In addition, Grimsby Town’s first-team coach analyst, Ray Shearwood, has been given a one-match touchline ban alongside a £450 fine. Both clubs, Cheltenham Town and Grimsby Town, were also fined for failing to control their players and technical staff.

Cheltenham Town were fined £6,750 and Grimsby £5,500 following the League Two fixture on September 5, due to improper and provocative behaviour by players and/or technical area personnel after the match.
Currently, Cheltenham sit fourth in the League Two table with 11 points from six matches. They will travel to face Colchester United this Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 3pm.
