Cheltenham Town manager Steve Cotterill has been issued a three-match touchline suspension following his red card after the final whistle of the 2-2 home draw with Grimsby Town on 5 September.
The ban means Cotterill will be unable to be in the technical area for Cheltenham’s next three fixtures: against Colchester United, Exeter City in the EFL Trophy, and Chesterfield. Instead, he will watch these games from the stands.
Cotterill admitted to a charge of acting in an improper manner and has been fined £2,250 by an independent Regulatory Commission. Additionally, Grimsby Town’s first-team coach analyst, Ray Shearwood, received a one-match touchline ban and a fine of £450.

Both clubs were penalised for failing to control their players and technical staff after the match. Cheltenham Town were fined £6,750, while Grimsby Town were fined £5,500, due to improper and/or provocative behaviour following the final whistle.
Currently, Cheltenham Town sit fourth in the League Two table, having accumulated 11 points from their opening six games. They will face Colchester United next, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm on Saturday.
