Stacey Solomon Fears Career Fallout After Tearful BAFTA Reaction

Stacey Solomon is reportedly concerned her career may be in jeopardy following a tearful Instagram video reacting to her BAFTA losses. The beloved presenter, known for her home improvement show Sort Your Life Out, was nominated in two categories but did not take home an award in either.

On May 11, after the BAFTA ceremony, Stacey shared an emotional message expressing her disappointment. She said, “We didn’t win a BAFTA. And I know we’re supposed to take it gracefully like a champ, but I’ll be honest, I’m devastated. I’m just gutted for my whole ‘Sort Your Life Out’ family because I do feel like they deserved a BAFTA. I’m gonna say it! I’m gutted!”

The response to her candid video divided fans: some praised her honesty, while others criticized her for appearing to be a “bad loser.” According to a close insider, Stacey has been deeply affected by the negative comments and fears this episode may have lasting damage on her career.

“She really takes the criticism to heart,” the insider revealed. “She’s never ungrateful; she works incredibly hard and is motivated by giving her children the best opportunities. She comes from a humble background and values her work deeply.”

Stacey’s journey began on the 2009 series of The X Factor, alongside Olly Murs. The insider pointed out that she has witnessed many fellow contestants fade from the spotlight and worries that she might face the same fate. “The fear of losing it all is always there,” they said.

Despite the setback, Stacey remains one of television’s most hardworking and successful personalities. The source added, “She gives everything she has to her work, so when things don’t go her way, it hits hard. But she’s determined to keep pushing forward and doing what she does best.”

Supporting her sister, Jemma Solomon took to Instagram to voice her defense, suggesting the outcome might have been different if the winners were determined by public vote: “If only it was a public vote, I think things would have been a little different.”

Sort Your Life Out was nominated for Best Factual Entertainment and Best Entertainment Performance but lost to Late Night Lycett and Rob And Rylan’s Grand Tour, respectively. Notably, Stacey lost Best Entertainment Performance to fellow X Factor alum Rylan Clark.

While being nominated itself is a significant honor, Stacey’s emotional reaction shows how much the awards meant to her. Fortunately, the show has been renewed for a sixth series, with Stacey continuing as host — signaling there’s much more to come.
