St Mirren have secured the signing of Luke Thomas, the former Cheltenham Town winger, ahead of their upcoming Scottish Premiership campaign. The 27-year-old has agreed to a two-year deal with the Paisley-based club after leaving Bristol Rovers at the conclusion of last season.
Thomas, who hails from the Forest of Dean, began his football journey at Cheltenham Town’s academy. He made his senior debut for the Robins at just 16 years old in an FA Trophy match against Chelmsford City. His potential saw him trial with Benfica before moving to Derby County in January 2016.
During his time at Derby, Thomas made two Championship appearances and had loan spells at Gloucester City and Coventry City. In 2019, he transferred to Barnsley and subsequently spent time out on loan with Ipswich Town and Bristol Rovers. In 2023, he made a permanent switch to Bristol Rovers before now embarking on this new chapter with St Mirren.
