Sleep Expert Reveals Unusual Trick to Quickly Fall Asleep

Struggling to fall asleep? A sleep expert has shared a bizarre method that promises to “trick your mind into falling asleep” in no time. As the holiday season approaches, ensure a good night’s rest by considering this unique approach.

Many people face difficulty in falling asleep due to various factors such as consuming caffeine late in the day, screen time, and pre-bedtime stress. A survey by Get Laid Beds discovered that a significant number of individuals in the UK take two to three hours to fall asleep after getting into bed. However, adopting certain pre-sleep habits can make the process of falling asleep much easier, resulting in a refreshed awakening.

Dr. Daisy Mae, a sleep expert from Get Laid Beds, explained the concept of “paradoxical intention,” where challenging oneself to stay awake can actually lead to falling asleep. She suggested laying in bed with eyes wide open, instructing oneself to ‘not fall asleep’ or ‘I will not fall asleep’. The fatigue in the eye muscles induced by this process is expected to prompt falling asleep rapidly.

Another approach includes reversing the order of completing tasks for the day, enabling a clear mind devoid of worries and preparing for peaceful sleep. Additionally, the 4-7-8 breathing technique is recommended for those struggling to fall sleep. This method involves placing the tongue on the roof of the mouth, followed by a sequence of inhaling, holding the breath, and exhaling.

Incorporating these unconventional methods into your bedtime routine may just be the key to achieving a restful night’s sleep.
