Six people were trapped in a lift experiencing intense heat at Gloucester’s King’s Walk shopping centre on Friday evening. Emergency services responded promptly, ensuring everyone was safely rescued without injury.
The Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service (GFRS) received the alert at approximately 5:46 pm and dispatched a fire engine from Gloucester North. Upon arrival, the team found the six individuals stuck inside the lift and successfully freed them within minutes.
A GFRS spokesperson confirmed, “We attended to reports of people trapped in a lift at King’s Walk shopping centre. Six occupants were safely released, and nobody was harmed during the incident. The situation was resolved by 5:57 pm.”
