Siren Craft Brew to Launch New Venue in Cheltenham’s Brewery Quarter This September

Siren Craft Brew, an award-winning independent brewery founded in Berkshire in 2013, is preparing to open its first venue outside its home county, bringing its presence to Cheltenham’s Brewery Quarter this September. The new venue will be located on the site of the former BrewDog bar, situated in an area with over 230 years of brewing history.

Known for brewing nearly four million pints annually, Siren is set to offer a diverse selection of more than 30 brewery-fresh beers, including cask ales, as well as wines, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and a carefully curated food menu to Cheltenham’s town centre.

Ahead of the opening, Siren has launched a Crowdfunder campaign inviting local residents and supporters to get involved. Contributors can pledge a minimum of £50 and will receive £1.50 in credit for every £1 pledged to spend at the new venue or online, effectively providing at least £75 in bar credit for a £50 donation. Higher pledges, up to £10,000, are also welcomed, with the equivalent increased credit rewards.

Additional incentives for supporters include limited-edition merchandise, invitations to exclusive events, their names featured on the supporter’s wall, and for the most generous contributor, the opportunity to design and brew a beer alongside the Siren team.

This crowdfunding approach follows the brewery’s successful community engagement in previous campaigns, such as raising over £400,000 in advance credits for its Reading town-centre taproom and involving around 1,500 investors in 2018 through equity crowdfunding.

The Cheltenham venue is designed to be a versatile social space catering to both beer enthusiasts and those seeking quieter conversations. It will feature a reimagined layout with areas for casual drinks and private bookings.

Danny Wratten-Sanchez, hospitality area manager for Siren Craft Brew, expressed enthusiasm about the project: “The Crowdfunder allows us to connect early with the Cheltenham community and has proven successful in creating anticipation ahead of new openings. There’s already a buzz around town, and we’re excited to join the strong independent beer scene alongside neighbours like DEYA. This will be one of the most significant independent venue launches in the area in years.”

The campaign runs for four weeks and will close in the last week of September, with no extensions planned. The venue’s opening date is scheduled for September, subject to building and launch timelines.
