Shoppers Praise Cotswolds Designer Outlet Near M5 as It Opens Its Doors

The much-anticipated Cotswolds Designer Outlet near Tewkesbury officially opened on July 16, offering shoppers a fresh and upscale retail experience just off Junction 9 of the M5. Home to prominent brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, BOSS, and Adidas, the outlet brings a high-end shopping experience to the heart of Gloucestershire.

Beyond fashion, the outlet boasts a lively selection of food and drink options. National favorites like Wagamama, Zizzi, Five Guys, and Pret A Manger sit alongside local gems such as KNEAD Bakery and The Patisserie Box, providing something to satisfy every palate.

Julie Kent, the Sheriff of Gloucester, shared her excitement at the opening, saying, “The outlet has a lovely variety of shops and is beautifully laid out. I’ve already bought chunky sandals from Dune and made the first purchase at The Perfume Shop. It’s conveniently located near Gloucester, and it’s fantastic to see so many jobs created. I’m looking forward to exploring more.”

Local resident Sandra Newman expressed her satisfaction after purchasing affordable items from M&S and planning to visit Adidas next. Meanwhile, Becky Dennis, visiting from London, praised the centre’s premium atmosphere and thoughtful design, noting it as “a great day for retail and dining.”

Naomi, another shopper, appreciated the fresh dining options and local convenience compared to nearby cities. “We usually go to Swindon’s outlet, but it’s declined recently. This outlet offers nice shops and eateries like Wagamama, which is closer for us.”

Friends Mia and Lily from Cheltenham compared the new outlet to the well-known Bicester Village and welcomed having such a quality destination closer to home. Rachael from Bishop’s Cleeve remarked on the airy layout and the refreshing open-air setting, a welcome change from typical shopping centres.

Adrian Field, centre manager, highlighted the architectural beauty and variety of the outlet’s 18 buildings housing 55 different brands. He expressed hopes that the outlet would transform Tewkesbury into a full-day or even overnight destination, benefiting local businesses and the wider community.

Social media reflects a generally positive response, with visitors praising the helpful staff, ease of parking, and attractive surroundings. Some constructive feedback noted that certain stores like M&S and Pavers have a limited selection due to smaller shop sizes, suggesting room for growth.

Overall, the Cotswolds Designer Outlet introduces a modern and inviting shopping and dining experience that is already making a favorable impression on visitors and locals alike.
