Shoplifters Banned from Major Retailers Including Boots and Tesco

Two habitual shoplifters from Hereford have been banned from entering several major stores around Gloucestershire following their convictions in court.

Lauren Holland, 41, and Verity Lulay, 35, both residents of Pomona Place, Hereford, were each issued Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) prohibiting them from entering specific shops for the next three years.

Holland, convicted of five counts of theft and one count of criminal damage, appeared at Hereford Magistrates' Court on November 5. She was sentenced to 13 weeks in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £154. In addition, she was banned from entering a number of shops as part of her CBO.

Lulay was convicted of one count of shop theft at her court appearance on November 13. She received an 18-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, along with a CBO banning her from the same retail outlets for three years.

Police Sergeant Duncan Reynolds of the Hereford City Centre team welcomed the court’s decision, emphasizing the impact the repeated thefts had on local businesses and the wider community. He urged anyone who sees these individuals breaching their bans to report immediately by calling 101.
