Following the passing of Ozzy Osbourne in July at the age of 76, his wife Sharon Osbourne revealed that King Charles sent a deeply compassionate letter to her and their family. The Black Sabbath frontman’s death left a profound impact, but Sharon found comfort in the warm and caring words from the monarch.
During a recent episode of the Osbournes podcast, their son Jack shared, “We got a lovely letter from the king.” Sharon described King Charles as “an amazing person,” emphasizing that his kindness extends far beyond their family. “He isn’t just thoughtful because he wrote to us when Ozzy passed; he does this for many, many people,” she explained.
Sharon highlighted King Charles’ broad range of concerns, noting that he remains deeply engaged not only in political matters but also in social and environmental issues, including animal welfare. “Here’s a man who truly understands what people are going through,” she said.

The connection between the Osbourne family and Charles goes back to 2003, when he was still Prince of Wales. Following Ozzy’s serious quad bike accident, Charles reached out to offer support, a gesture that left a lasting impression on Sharon. “He’s got a good heart,” she said, praising the king’s genuine care and respect.
Sharon also revealed that the condolence letter was personally hand-delivered, a sign of the king’s sincere empathy. “It meant so much that he took time out of his day to personally send us his condolences,” she added.
In addition to King Charles, the family also received messages from other prominent figures. Notably, former US President Donald Trump left a voicemail expressing his condolences and admiration for Ozzy. “Love him or hate him, he didn’t have to call and leave a voicemail,” Jack noted after the message was played on the podcast.
Sharon spoke positively of her brief time working with Trump during the 2010 Celebrity Apprentice show, describing him and First Lady Melania Trump as respectful and gracious. She acknowledged that her praise might be controversial but insisted on sharing her personal experience. “I have never voted and don’t plan to, but all I know is that they treated me and my family with kindness and respect, without asking for anything in return,” she said.
Through the heartfelt messages from King Charles and others, the Osbourne family has felt supported during their time of grief, reinforcing the human connections behind public figures.
