A man in his 70s sustained serious injuries after being struck by a car in Churchdown yesterday afternoon. The crash occurred around 4:40 pm on Sunday, December 14, on Cheltenham Road East, a key bus route through the area.
Emergency services responded promptly to reports of the collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. Gloucestershire Police confirmed that the injured man was transported to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, where he remains in a serious condition.
As a result of the incident, Cheltenham Road East has been closed between Innsworth Road and Pirton Lane while collision investigators carry out their work. Police officers remained at the scene late into Sunday evening to gather evidence.

The road closure is impacting local bus services, with Stagecoach announcing that route 94 cannot serve Pirton Corner or Grayhound Gardens. Buses are being diverted via Innsworth and Longford Road.
