Second Man Arrested Following Cheltenham Head Injury Attack

A second man has been arrested after a violent assault in Cheltenham early Monday morning, June 16. Police established a cordon at the junction of High Street, Promenade, and North Street after a man was attacked by two individuals.

The latest arrest involves a man in his 30s from Cheltenham, held on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm. Earlier the same day, police arrested another man in his 20s from Cheltenham on the same charge.

Both suspects remain in police custody for questioning, and officers are not seeking any additional suspects related to the incident.

The victim, a man in his 40s, sustained a head laceration from the attack and was transported to hospital. He has since been discharged and is recovering.

Authorities believe the men involved are acquainted with one another. Police urge anyone who witnessed the assault or has relevant information to come forward, quoting incident number 6 from June 16.

Gloucestershire Police confirmed: “A second man has been taken into custody in connection with an incident in Cheltenham town centre this morning. Both men remain in custody, and there are no further suspects being sought at this time.”
