Gloucester’s mayor, Adrian Graham, is on a mission to spotlight the unsung heroes who quietly make a difference in the city. Elected as Gloucester’s 546th first citizen earlier this year, Mayor Graham, a DJ and former publican, feels privileged to serve his community and is committed to celebrating those who work behind the scenes.
Speaking to councillors at the time of his election, Graham expressed his dedication to “bringing people together and building on what already makes this city great.” Now, as part of his mayoral focus, he is reaching out to recognise the volunteers, community groups, businesses, charities, and individuals contributing positively to Gloucester’s spirit.
“Gloucester is full of people quietly doing amazing work,” Mayor Graham said. “This initiative is a simple way to say thank you and to shine a light on their contributions. Recognition letters will be sent out to acknowledge their efforts, giving them a keepsake they can display with pride.”

He encourages residents to nominate organisations or individuals they believe deserve this honour by emailing him directly at [email protected]. Through this effort, Mayor Graham hopes to raise awareness of the incredible community spirit thriving within Gloucester and inspire others to get involved.
