Emergency services concluded a search of a lake near Gloucester after reports of a man shouting for help were investigated and no evidence of distress was found.
On the night of Friday, 7 August, emergency responders were alerted to a male voice calling for assistance near the lake off Sandhurst Lane, just outside Gloucester. The call came at approximately 11:45 pm.
Police, fire crews, the Severn Area Rescue Association, and the National Police Air Service mounted an extensive search operation on Saturday following the report. Despite thorough efforts and inquiries into missing person reports, there was no indication that anyone had entered the water.

Due to safety concerns, the initial search was temporarily paused but then resumed before authorities decided in the afternoon to formally stand down the operation.
Gloucestershire Police expressed their gratitude to everyone who contributed information during the investigation, emphasising that all leads had been carefully examined but no evidence of an emergency was discovered.
