Ryanair Incident: Gloucester Woman Escorted off Flight for Unpaid Pringles

A trip from Tenerife to Bristol turned into a nightmare for Ann-Marie Murray when she found herself being escorted off a Ryanair flight by the police after she couldn’t pay for a tube of Pringles. The 55-year-old was left in shock after officers were called due to a dispute over the unpaid £7 bill, which she tried to settle via her card that the in-flight machine wouldn’t accept and had no cash on hand.

The airline reported the incident as a disruptive passenger situation and asked for police assistance. However, Murray insisted that there were no raised voices and she had attempted to pay without any success. She had even offered to settle the payment upon landing but was declined the option.

After her partner inquired if they should return the Pringles, the crew declined. Murray expressed feeling shocked and embarrassed at the crew’s decision to call the police, emphasizing that she had done everything possible to resolve the situation.

Following police intervention, Murray explained the situation, and they accompanied her to a cash machine where she settled the £7 bill. She expressed her disbelief at the crew’s handling of the situation and stated that she would never fly with Ryanair again after the ordeal.

Ryanair’s response emphasized their zero-tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and their commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all passengers and crew.
