Rugby Star Danny Cipriani to Showcase Dancing Skills on Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special

Former England rugby star Danny Cipriani will be gracing the stage of the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special. As one of six celebrity contestants, he will be vying for the coveted title of Christmas Champion 2023.

Each celebrity will be matched with a professional dancer to present a festive routine, aiming to impress the panel of judges including Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and Head Judge Shirley Ballas. Alongside Cipriani, the other participants comprise Dan Snow, Sally Nugent, Jamie Borthwick, Tillie Amartey, and Keisha Buchanan.

Cipriani, a former Gloucester and Bath fly-half, will be partnered with Jowita Przystał. Expressing his enthusiasm for the show, he revealed, “I’ve always enjoyed the concept of Strictly Come Dancing, it wasn’t something I ever thought I’d do. After addressing my own ideas and beliefs, I am very much looking forward to expressing myself through dance with no limitations. Strictly brings joy to everyone’s living rooms, being a part of that for Christmas Day will be special.”

While Cipriani was previously poised for an appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, he withdrew following the end of his relationship.

Having tied the knot with Victoria Rose in 2021, Cipriani announced their separation on Instagram, stating, “Victoria and I sat together this weekend and agreed to separate after 4 years of marriage. Whilst we’ve had some wonderful times together, we’ve also recognised we’re on different journeys and whilst this is sad news, it’s also a new chapter for us both to pursue our own happiness. I only wish the best for Victoria and her children.”

The anticipated Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special is scheduled to be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Christmas Day.
