Newent clinched a nail-biting 31-28 win over Banbury in Regional 1 Midlands. Newent surged to a commanding 28-0 lead within the first thirty minutes, marking a dominant start with tries from Ben Vincent, Ted Bailey, Adrian Connelly, and Jim Hartland, all converted by Doug Long. Banbury staged a fierce comeback in the second half, leveling the score amidst some discipline issues, including penalties and yellow cards on both sides. With the game tied late, Long’s penalty kick secured victory for Newent in stoppage time.

Other notable results include Matson’s heavy 42-5 defeat at Launceston, Tom Barber’s hat-trick sealing Stow-on-the-Wold’s 19-15 win over Kenilworth, and Longlevens’ heartbreaking 43-31 loss to Witney after a strong first half.
