Royal Husband Thomas Kingston Leaves Estate Worth Nearly £1 Million

Thomas Kingston, husband of Lady Gabriella Kingston—daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent—passed away on February 25, 2024, leaving behind an estate valued at nearly £1 million, according to newly released probate documents.

Kingston died at the age of 45 from a gunshot wound at his parents' home in the Cotswolds, with the firearm found nearby. An inquest in December 2024 revealed that he had been experiencing adverse reactions to prescribed mental health medication. Gloucestershire senior coroner Katy Skerrett concluded the inquest with a narrative verdict.

Though Kingston did not have a will at the time of his death, probate records show his estate’s gross value to be £939,429, with a net value of £664,429 after liabilities. The High Court of Justice granted administration of the estate to Lady Gabriella Kingston on March 17, 2024. The couple had married in 2019 at Windsor Castle, and Lady Gabriella currently resides in London’s Notting Hill.

Kingston had served as a director at Plymouth-based investment firm Devonport Capital Ltd. from 2017 until his death. The company collapsed into administration last year with debts totaling nearly £30 million.
