This Saturday, the royal family will come together in the Cotswolds village of Kemble to celebrate the wedding of Peter Phillips, son of Princess Anne, the Princess Royal.
Among the distinguished guests expected are the King and Queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Zara and Mike Tindall, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. The ceremony will take place at All Saints Church, a charming parish church known for its tall spire and strong community ties.
Notably absent will be the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Reports suggest that Prince Harry, along with Meghan Markle and their children, were not invited to the private event, highlighting the ongoing estrangement within the family. Harry and Peter Phillips were close during their youth but have since drifted apart. The Duke of Sussex’s relocation to the United States and public criticisms of the royal family and institution have further deepened family divides.

Peter Phillips will marry NHS nurse Harriet Sperling in this intimate ceremony. The couple has been together since early 2024, with their engagement announced last August. Also attending will be Phillips’s children from his previous marriage—Savannah, 15, and Isla, 14—as well as Harriet’s teenage daughter, Georgina. Stephanie Phillips, Peter’s half-sister and a bridesmaid at his first wedding, is also expected to be present.
Peter Phillips resides near the venue on the Gatcombe Park estate in Minchinhampton, a testament to his close connection with his mother’s Gloucestershire home. The 48-year-old is the son of Anne and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips, making him the King’s nephew and cousin to Prince William and Prince Harry.
The wedding follows Peter Phillips’s split from his first wife, Autumn, in 2020 after 12 years of marriage. Their wedding had been a grand affair held at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, in 2008. Unlike the previous lavish ceremony, this wedding will be a more private celebration focused on family.
Adding to the day’s significance, the wedding coincides with the Epsom Derby. The King and Queen plan to attend the race following the ceremony, where they will present the trophy to the winner, making it a busy and momentous day for the royal family.
