Royal Family Celebrates Peter Phillips' Wedding as Lena Tindall Steals the Spotlight

The Royal Family gathered in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, this past weekend to celebrate the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling. Princess Anne’s son exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony, attended by close family members including the King and Queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

Peter’s sister, Zara Tindall, was also present with her husband Mike and their two eldest daughters, Mia, 12, and Lena, 7. The Tindall sisters drew attention with their appearance, with many noting how much Mia has grown, while Lena quickly became the heart of the event with her infectious joy and playful antics.

Lena’s spirited “umbrella dance” caught the eye of royal watchers as she happily twirled her unicorn umbrella while waiting for the family car to the reception. Fans were quick to make comparisons with Prince Louis, who shares a reputation for stealing the spotlight with his charming behaviour at royal events. Although the Wales children were not at the ceremony, the resemblance was clear and much admired.

Social media erupted with affectionate comments about Lena’s exuberance. Hello! Magazine aptly described her as “the new Prince Louis” thanks to her rebellious umbrella moves. On X, fans shared their delight, with one saying, “Lena Tindall is just living her best life in the rain and I am all for it.” Others dreamed of a royal pairing, imagining, “It would have been more iconic if boss baby Prince Louis joined her,” and “She and Prince Louis are probably quite a pair.”

The marriage service was held at All Saints Parish Church, Kemble. The Reverend Dr Steve Bullock officiated, while the Reverend Nicky Gumbel delivered the marriage blessing and address.
