Rose West, serving a life sentence for the brutal murders of 12 young women alongside her husband Fred West, has become a grandmother once more. Her son, Stephen West, 51, recently welcomed a daughter named Eden with former glamour model and nurse Emma Bradley.
Rose, imprisoned since her conviction, will not meet her grandchild as Stephen has cut all contact with her. Stephen himself has a troubled past, having been jailed in 2004 for engaging in sexual activity with an underage girl. Raised in the notorious “House of Horrors” on Cromwell Street, Gloucester, Stephen has acknowledged some shared traits with his father Fred West.
Despite Stephen’s dark history, he and Emma have embraced parenthood and plan to marry this August at the Celtic Manor hotel in Newport. However, Emma’s family reportedly disapproves of the relationship due to Stephen’s past, causing tension within their circle. Emma also has two daughters from a previous relationship and works as a nurse at Gloucester Royal Hospital.
Amid reports of Rose West’s declining health and relocation to an adapted prison cell due to limited mobility, Emma said neither she nor Stephen maintain contact with Rose. Viewing the recent Netflix series about Fred and Rose West, Emma said Stephen chooses to focus on protecting their young family rather than revisiting his past.
Stephen, a father of eight from two previous marriages, is now a grandfather. Rose remains incarcerated at HMP New Hall near Wakefield, West Yorkshire. According to an insider, she rarely leaves her prison wing, spends much of her time alone, and has struggled to make friends with other inmates due to her notorious identity, even after changing her name to Jennifer Jones by deed poll last December. Her daily routine includes watching nature documentaries, knitting, and eating solitary meals.
