Roman Kemp has playfully warned his father, Martin Kemp, that he’s plotting revenge ahead of Martin’s upcoming stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! This month, Martin, 64, will follow in the footsteps of his 32-year-old son, who famously competed in the 2019 series and finished in third place.
Reflecting on his own jungle experience during an episode of the podcast ‘You About?’ with co-host Tom Grennan, Roman recounted the moment he was voted by the public to face one of the show’s notorious Bushtucker Trials. At the time, Roman assumed the public’s votes were a backlash against him, but he soon realized his dad had been behind the prank.
Roman revealed that Martin had encouraged his social media followers to send him into the toughest challenges. “I need to get you back,” Roman told his dad on the podcast. “I thought the public must hate me for picking me for those trials, but it turned out you tweeted, ‘I want to see my son eat kangaroo b*******.’”

Martin laughed off the confession, calling himself “the ringleader” of the stunt.
Since arriving in Australia to film the new series of I’m A Celebrity, Martin has shared a heartfelt message about missing his family during the show. Referring to Roman’s previous success on the programme, Martin joked on Instagram: “People keep asking if I’m scared of snakes or spiders… The truth is, I’m more scared of Roman’s face if I don’t make it as far as he did.”
While Martin embarks on his jungle adventure, Roman is currently starring on BBC’s Race Across the World alongside his sister, Harleymoon Kemp. The siblings are competing against three other celebrity pairs, journeying more than 5,900km through Central America on a limited budget.
