The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has awarded The Rising Sun in Frampton Cottrell, South Gloucestershire, with the Pub of The Year title, with The Drapers Arms in Bristol receiving runner-up. Richard Brooks, CAMRA Bristol & District Branch Chair, emphasized that the award considers the overall customer experience and value for money, not just the beer quality.
The general managers of The Rising Sun expressed their gratitude to the CAMRA team and their hardworking and knowledgeable staff, as well as the success of their own brewery, Hop Union Brewery, which has contributed to their achievement. The owner of The Drapers Arms, Garvan Hickey, celebrated the recognition of their dedication to real ale and their commitment to providing a diverse selection of ales.
Both establishments were commended for their contributions to the promotion of real ale and maintaining high standards in their services.
