In the newest episode of Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, viewers were treated to an intimate glimpse into the life and relationship of Reuben Owen and his girlfriend, Jessica. The show, which aired on Tuesday, 17th June, follows Reuben as he juggles his restoration projects and responsibilities in the Yorkshire Dales.
This episode highlighted the strong partnership between Reuben and Jessica, who comes from a local farming family. Together, they embarked on an ambitious project to design and build a sheep pen to support a large-scale farm operation. The duo was seen working side-by-side, operating diggers and preparing the land for the enclosure.
Jessica, 21, spoke warmly about their eight-month relationship, which began at a youth agricultural conference. “Ever since we first met, we just clicked. I think it’s because I’m from a farming background, and so is Reuben,” she explained. She also expressed her admiration for Reuben and his family, famed from Our Yorkshire Farm, saying, “I just love him to bits. Love his family, get on great with them.”

Reuben echoed Jessica’s sentiments, praising her farming skills and their dynamic teamwork. “Me and Jess have been together a while now. We’re always working together on all sorts of different things. She’s absolutely brilliant on any piece of kit, really. I haven’t found anything that’s beaten her yet!” he shared.
The episode also delved into Reuben’s ongoing efforts to renovate a cottage in Thwaite, which he and his father, Clive, purchased as an investment. Although his busy schedule delayed progress, Reuben is now eager to complete the restoration so he can sell the property and invest in a new home.
