Next month, the charming hilltop village of Box in the Cotswolds will open its stunning gardens to the public, creating a unique fundraiser for local charities. This special event, known as The Box Open Gardens, only takes place once every three years, offering visitors a rare chance to wander through some of the village’s most beautiful and meticulously cared-for gardens.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of south-facing valley views near Minchinhampton in Stroud district, the gardens will be accessible on Sunday, June 1st, from midday until 6 pm. Entry costs just £6 per adult, with children admitted free, and all proceeds will support selected local charities.
Visitors can enjoy a full afternoon of activities beyond the gardens. A discovery trail has been planned to engage children, ensuring fun for the whole family. Classic car enthusiasts can visit a display at Box House, where some of the village’s vintage vehicles will be on show. Music lovers will appreciate a performance by the award-winning Nailsworth Silver Band, while flower enthusiasts can explore an exceptional floral display at St Barnabas.
