Raiders Make Off with £250,000 Worth of Heavy Machinery in Two-Day Theft Spree

Over the weekend near Berkeley, a group of thieves carried out a daring two-day raid, stealing heavy machinery valued at approximately £250,000. Gloucestershire Police are now appealing for any information that could aid their investigation.

The intruders first forced their way into a premises on the A38 Bristol Road near Cambridge around 10pm on Saturday, May 24. Remarkably, they returned roughly 24 hours later, at about 9:45pm on Sunday, May 25, taking with them a convoy of stolen vehicles including a Kubota excavator, a digger, and a roller.

A Gloucestershire Police statement detailed the incident: “Unknown offenders forced entry to the site and twice targeted the location, absconding with multiple high-value machines. Investigations and forensic examinations of the scene are underway.”

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed anything suspicious around the time of the break-ins or who may have captured relevant footage on CCTV or dashcams to come forward. Information can be submitted by referencing incident 429 of 25 May via the Gloucestershire Police website.
