In her latest Instagram post, Princess Kate, the Princess of Wales, has delivered a moving message to people across the United Kingdom. As part of Kensington Palace’s quarterly Mother Nature series, she unveiled a new video focusing on the autumn season—a time she describes as one for “reflection and refinement.”
Originally launched in spring to celebrate the changing seasons, the series highlights nature’s cycles and their parallels to personal growth. In this newest installment, Kate invites her 17.1 million followers, alongside Prince William, to “embrace the beauty found in change.” She emphasizes the importance of slowing down to “simply pay attention and listen,” and to “learn to let go of what is no longer needed.”
The personally signed caption accompanying the post reads: “Autumn – a season of reflection, growth and deeper connection. Embrace the beauty found in change, as we prepare for winter’s rest. C.”

Narrating the video filmed in early October, the Princess is seen cooking outdoors with chef Gill Meller and pupils from Farley Junior Academy in Luton. The group shares food and stories around a bonfire in Windsor Great Park. These children benefit from Go Beyond, a charity providing nature access and residential trips to young people facing adversity across the UK. Additional footage was filmed during Kate and Prince William’s visit to Northern Ireland, including stops at Long Meadow Cider in Co. Armagh and Mallon Farm in Co. Tyrone.
Kate eloquently describes the changing season: “As the days grow shorter and the shadows grow longer, the energy of summer withdraws into autumn. This is a season for reflection and refinement. Trees shed their canopies in preparation for winter, just as we too learn to let go of what is no longer needed.
“Through greater awareness of our inner and outer worlds, we can find clarity and purpose in what matters most, encouraging us to simply pay attention and listen. With the turning of the seasons, Mother Nature teaches us there is beauty to be found in change, impermanence and in letting go.
“These are the natural cycles of life. Whilst the blossoms fall and the colours fade, the roots grow deeper. Stronger. Let love be the root that holds us, the light that guides us, with hope, through change. Endure.”
The response from the public has been overwhelmingly positive. Comments include heartfelt affirmations such as “So true. Hard times in life help us remain stronger and more connected with what is really important,” and “This is what I needed to hear…. Thank you.”
This message of hope and resilience comes ahead of Kate’s annual carol service, scheduled for December 5 at Westminster Abbey. This year’s Together at Christmas event will celebrate “love in all its forms,” featuring readings by well-known figures like Kate Winslet, Hannah Waddingham, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, with musical performances by Bastille’s lead singer Dan Smith.
