Princess Eugenie Reveals Cozy Family Home Inside Kensington Palace Grounds

Princess Eugenie recently offered a rare glimpse into her family home during a video call marking Scoliosis Awareness Month on June 15. The princess, who underwent surgery for scoliosis at age 12, is deeply committed to raising awareness about the condition. As a patron of Scoliosis Support & Research and several other charities, she used the opportunity to highlight this important cause.

During the call, Eugenie joined physiotherapist Emily Hale, who specializes in spinal health, and Riley James, a scoliosis survivor and London Marathon runner. The video call took place in Eugenie’s home office, where fans noticed the inviting shade of blue on the walls and an impressive collection of books spanning art history and literature. Warm family photographs adorned the space, adding a personal touch.

Princess Eugenie divides her time between Ivy Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace and their residence in Portugal. Ivy Cottage became her home after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved out in 2018 to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. This grace-and-favour property is owned by the Crown and provided rent-free to those who serve the royal family or in recognition of their service. Previously, it has housed palace staff.

The charming three-bedroom Ivy Cottage is off-limits to the public. When in the UK, Eugenie shares the home with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, a marketing executive working for a Portuguese company. Together, they have two sons, August (born 2021) and Ernest (born 2023).

Ivy Cottage is one of several royal residences located on Kensington Palace grounds. Its proximity to Buckingham Palace makes it a preferred London base for various royals. Nearby is Nottingham Cottage, known as the first home of Prince William and Kate Middleton following their marriage. It also served as Prince Harry’s home during the early stages of his relationship with Meghan Markle and the place where he proposed to her over a roast chicken dinner.

Reports have revealed a close friendship between Eugenie and Meghan Markle, with sources describing them as inseparable. It’s said that Eugenie believes Meghan is perfect for Harry, and the friends may even vacation together soon.

Although Eugenie enjoys her life in Portugal, there are rumours she may make a permanent move back to the UK. A source close to the family said last year that Eugenie hopes to use their Portuguese villa as a holiday retreat while returning to the UK more permanently. The couple values spending quality time with family, and Jack’s career success allows them the flexibility to maintain a close-knit family across two countries.
