Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have welcomed their third child, a daughter, born on Monday evening at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
The newborn arrived weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces, with both mother and baby reported to be in good health. This birth represents a rare occasion of a member of the Royal Family being born overseas, reflecting the couple’s personal and professional ties to Portugal, where they maintain a residence.
Buckingham Palace issued a statement: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday 3 August 2026, at 6.20pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. The baby was born weighing 6lb 9oz.”

The King and Queen, along with other members of the royal family, were reportedly pleased upon receiving the news.
The couple’s new daughter joins her older brothers, August and Ernest. Eugenie and Jack have yet to share the baby’s name, as they take time to make their choice.
Princess Eugenie, the younger daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, shared the happy news on social media with a photo of the newborn, writing: “Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank! We are beyond in love with our girlie,” accompanied by heart emojis.
Eugenie and Jack split their time between the UK and Portugal, where Jack works professionally. They are said to be grateful for the hospital team’s care and are enjoying precious moments with their new daughter and their two sons.
Although the baby will not hold HRH status and will not receive a royal title, she is 15th in line to the throne. Her arrival moves her great-uncle, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, to 16th place in the succession.
This little girl is also the 15th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the third born since the Queen’s passing in 2022.
Additionally, she is the fifth grandchild of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, following the birth of her cousin, Athena Mapelli Mozzi, daughter of Princess Beatrice, in January last year.
