Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have welcomed a daughter born on the evening of Monday 3 August 2026 at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, Buckingham Palace announced.
The newborn arrived weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces, with both mother and baby reported to be in good health. The birth is notable as it is relatively unusual for a member of the Royal Family to be born outside the United Kingdom, although the couple maintains a residence and strong connections in Portugal.
A palace statement read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday 3 August 2026, at 6.20pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. The baby was born weighing 6lb 9oz.”

Those close to the family, including His Majesty The King and The Queen consort, were pleased to receive the joyous news, the statement added.
This joyous arrival marks Eugenie and Jack’s third child, joining their sons August and Ernest. The couple is currently taking their time deciding on a name for their baby girl.
Princess Eugenie shared the happy news on social media alongside a photograph of the newborn, writing: “Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank! We are beyond in love with our girlie,” accompanied by several heart emojis.
The family splits their time between the UK and Portugal, where Jack Brooksbank works. They have expressed great appreciation for the care provided by the hospital staff during the birth.
Their daughter will not hold the style of Her Royal Highness nor be granted a royal title. She now holds the fifteenth place in the line of succession to the throne, moving her great uncle, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, to sixteenth place.
This new arrival is the fifteenth great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the third great-grandchild born following her passing in 2022.
She is also the fifth grandchild of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the Duke of York, and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York. This follows the birth of Princess Eugenie’s elder sister, Princess Beatrice’s daughter, Athena Mapelli Mozzi, born in January last year.
