Princess Anne rushes to brother King Charles’s side after ‘brief’ hospital visit

Following a swift hospital visit due to side effects from his cancer treatment, King Charles made a hasty return to his London home. Princess Anne wasted no time in visiting her brother, making her way to see him in London after the monarch’s health setback. Buckingham Palace announced that the King had postponed his engagements to prioritise recovery and had returned to Clarence House, accompanied by Queen Camilla.

Later in the morning, King Charles departed his London residence for his home in Gloucestershire, where he greeted well-wishers from a black Audi. Meanwhile, Princess Anne left in a black Bentley for Buckingham Palace to conduct an investiture ceremony.

Despite the brief hospital visit, the 76-year-old King appeared in good spirits at his London residence and is expected to resume his official duties while at home. According to an insider, the situation is a “minor bump in a road that is very much heading in the right direction.”

A statement from Buckingham Palace revealed that the King experienced temporary side effects from his ongoing cancer treatment, which led to a short period of observation in hospital. As a precaution, tomorrow’s diary programme has been rescheduled on medical advice.

The upcoming state visit to Italy for King and Queen is expected to proceed as planned, despite the recent health setback.
