Prince William Reveals Princess Charlotte’s Newfound Passion for Running – A Family Tradition

Princess Charlotte has recently discovered a passion for running, much to the pride of her father, Prince William. During an investiture ceremony, he shared with Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson that his daughter enjoys competing in the 400 metres and hurdles events.

Keely Hodgkinson later recounted their conversation, saying, “The Prince told me his daughter is doing the 400 metres and the hurdles and that she watched me compete in Paris. He mentioned he remembers my victory and wished he could have been there in person.”

This athletic pursuit comes as no surprise, given that both Princess Charlotte’s mother, Princess Kate, and her aunt, Pippa Middleton, are avid runners. Pippa, in particular, has a longstanding passion for the sport, tracing back to her prep school days. She once told Hoka, “Running has been a constant in my life since these days at prep school. The pre- and post-race adrenaline still excites me, and I continue to feel the incredible endorphin rush after races or challenges.”

Reflecting on her early start, Pippa emphasized the importance of building a foundation in running during childhood, calling it “invaluable.”

Athleticism clearly runs in the family. Prince William also revealed that Princess Charlotte’s older brother, Prince George, 11, shares a keen interest in running and triathlons, regularly participating in events at his school, Lambrook. Meanwhile, their younger brother, Prince Louis, 7, shows a different sporting inclination, with a particular fondness for rugby. Princess Kate has remarked on his enthusiasm, describing him as “mad” about the sport.

It seems the Royal family’s love for sports, especially running, continues to inspire the younger generation in exciting and healthy ways.
