Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have returned to the United Kingdom for their first extended stay in six years, with reports suggesting they may be living somewhere in the picturesque Cotswolds region. Although the couple’s exact residence, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, remains unconfirmed, speculation continues to focus on this South West area known for attracting celebrities such as Ellen DeGeneres, the Beckhams, and Jeremy Clarkson.
Among the possible neighbours is well-known celebrity interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, famous for his appearances on the BBC’s “Changing Rooms.” In an exclusive conversation, Laurence shared his candid views about the Sussexes and revealed he has affectionately given Meghan Markle the nickname “Duchess of Beige,” inspired by her reputed aesthetic preferences.
Laurence expressed a warm welcome, stating he would invite the couple to visit his Llewelyn Bowen Pattern Emporium shop should they need assistance with interior accents such as cushions or curtains. He commented, “What we do is very colourful. It’s probably far too exciting for the Duchess of Beige, but we can try. Certainly if she wants to be taken seriously by the ladies of the area, owning a couple of LLB cushions would definitely push her in the right direction.”

He playfully reiterated the nickname, adding that his wife noted Meghan might find it challenging to wear white jeans in the muddy Cotswolds environment. Laurence also previously cautioned that locals in the Cotswolds can quickly sense insincerity, suggesting that Meghan especially needs to be confident in her identity.
Responses from other local residents have varied, with some embracing the couple’s arrival and others less welcoming. One resident was reported to have bluntly told the Sussexes to “get lost,” also referencing celebrity Ellen DeGeneres.
