Prince Harry and Meghan Absent from Peter Phillips' Private Wedding Ceremony

The Royal Family will come together this Saturday in the Gloucestershire village of Kemble to celebrate the wedding of Peter Phillips, the eldest grandson of the late Queen Elizabeth II. The private ceremony will take place at All Saints Church, a historic landmark known for its prominent spire and strong community ties.

Among the distinguished guests expected are the King and Queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Zara and Mike Tindall, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. Notably absent, however, will be the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

There has been uncertainty surrounding whether the Sussex family received an invitation. Some reports suggest they were excluded from the guest list, reflecting the ongoing estrangement between Prince Harry and other members of the Royal Family. Harry and Peter Phillips were once close in their youth, but their relationship has cooled, particularly following Harry’s move to the United States and his public criticisms of the monarchy.

Peter Phillips will marry Harriet Sperling, an NHS nurse, during the ceremony. Present will be Peter’s daughters, Savannah (15) and Isla (14), along with Harriet’s teenage daughter, Georgina. Stephanie, Peter’s half-sister and a bridesmaid at his first wedding, is also expected to attend.

Peter Phillips lives nearby on the Gatcombe Park estate, owned by his mother, Princess Anne. He is the King’s nephew, the first cousin to Princes William and Harry, and brother to Zara Tindall. Peter and his first wife, Autumn, divorced in 2020 after 12 years of marriage. They have two children together and shared custody.

The couple’s engagement was publicly announced last August, with their relationship starting earlier this year. They recently appeared together at Royal Ascot as guests of King Charles and Queen Camilla, even participating in the traditional royal carriage procession that marks the event’s opening.

The wedding date overlaps with the Epsom Derby, meaning that after the ceremony, the King and Queen will promptly travel to the racecourse to witness and present the trophy at one of the year’s most prestigious horse racing events.
