Molto Bene Pizzeria, a beloved pizza parlour known for its artisan, hand-crafted pizzas, has closed its Quedgeley location to focus entirely on take-away and delivery from a new, more central site in Gloucester. The move comes as the business seeks to reach more customers and expand its offerings.
Formerly located at the Orchard Centre in Quedgeley, Molto Bene was taken over by owner Liam Parr in March 2023. Under his leadership, the pizzeria built a devoted following but faced delivery limitations. To overcome this, Liam has shifted operations to Unit 21a Moreland Estate at the Old Match Factory on Bristol Road, Gloucester. This central location enables citywide delivery within just six to seven minutes from the old site.
Liam, 46, says, “After nearly five years in Quedgeley, including over two years as Molto Bene, we’re excited to move forward. We’ve had a wonderful customer base and couldn’t have achieved this without them. However, we want to serve more people and have had to turn away customers beyond our delivery range.”

The Quedgeley site closed on April 26, and the new Morelands location opened on May 15, currently operating Thursday through Saturday. By focusing solely on takeaway and delivery, Molto Bene plans to expand the menu with more sides, even though it means losing eat-in space. A stand-alone eat-in venue remains a goal for the future.
In addition to the new premises, Molto Bene operates a production site in Mitcheldean where pizza bases, sauces, and toppings are crafted. The demand for their specialty cook-at-home pizzas continues to grow, stocked at Gloucester services, Daylesford Farm Shop, Ledbury Road Farm Shop, and more. Liam reveals there are plans to scale this brand nationally.
The business is also active in catering at festivals and events, already appearing at notable gatherings such as Hay-on-Wye Literary Festival, Gloucester Goes Retro, and Spookyard at Over Farm. This year’s calendar includes appearances at Balter in Chepstow, Godiva in Coventry, and various pop-ups and private events.
Liam adds, “It’s an exciting time of growth for us. We’re always looking for passionate people to join the crew as we expand.”
