Residents and motorists in Gloucestershire are being advised of potential traffic delays as two enormous steel wings, each weighing 60 tonnes, are transported through the county today. The journey, which was initially planned for Tuesday 22 September, had to be postponed due to a vehicle breakdown.
Gloucestershire Police will oversee the escort of these abnormal loads, which measure 17 metres in length and 4.85 metres in width. The convoy will exit the M5 northbound at Junction 11A, proceed along the B4641, then continue down Delta Way and onto Hurricane Road before reaching their final destination at Golf Club Lane in Brockworth.
The movements are scheduled to commence at approximately 11am. A police spokesperson emphasised that while efforts will be made to minimise disruption, motorists are encouraged to avoid the affected routes during the transportation period or allow extra travel time to accommodate potential delays.
