A serious crash on the M50 motorway early Monday morning has left two people injured, including an eight-day-old baby. The incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. on May 25 between junctions 1 and 2 when a car collided with the barrier and subsequently flipped over.
A 37-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. West Mercia Police have since released her on bail as investigations continue.
The newborn was transported to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, while the woman in her 30s received treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The crash caused significant traffic disruption, with motorists facing hours of delays as emergency services attended the scene.

Following the incident, one lane of the motorway was closed on May 26 to facilitate essential barrier repairs.
