A major rescue operation is currently taking place at Gloucester Docks following reports that a man entered the River Severn and failed to emerge.
Gloucestershire Police were alerted at approximately 10:20 a.m. on Thursday, November 20, after concerns were raised for the man’s welfare near the Old Prison area. The man reportedly went into the water but did not resurface, prompting immediate action.
Authorities have launched extensive searches along the river, involving multiple agencies. Police officers, alongside the Fire and Rescue Service and the National Police Air Service, are conducting coordinated efforts. A police helicopter has been spotted circling the docks and tracking the river throughout the morning in the ongoing attempt to locate the missing individual.
