Police Search for Owner After Second Dog Attack in Cheltenham

Two people have suffered injuries in Cheltenham after being attacked by two dogs described by police as dangerously out of control. Both incidents occurred in the Daisy Bank area and involved dogs believed to be American bulldog breeds.

The first attack took place around 11am on 22 September, when the dogs ran towards a woman, jumping up and scratching her. The second incident occurred on the morning of 1 October at approximately 8.10am, when one of the dogs bit a man, leaving cuts on his legs.

The owner of the dogs failed to provide her details following either event. She is described as a white woman in her 60s, with short grey hair longer on the top and shorter on the sides. She is slim and typically wears jogging bottoms.

Both dogs are white, with one seen wearing a muzzle while the other was not restrained. Gloucestershire Police are appealing for the owner to come forward to provide her account of the incidents.

Under Section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, it is an offence for a dog to be dangerously out of control in any place, including private property. Police also seek information from anyone who witnessed the attacks or was in the area at the times they occurred. Witnesses can report information online quoting incident number 74 of 1 October.
