Gloucester’s Neighbourhood Support Team reported a busy day on Tuesday, May 20, with four arrests made across the city. These actions were part of a clear ‘Not In Our City’ stance against crime in Gloucester.
The Gloucestershire Police Community Alert detailed the incidents as follows:
Arrest 1: On May 17, a motorcycle rider failed to stop for police. When spotted again, the rider abandoned the bike and fled on foot but was quickly caught on Stroud Road. The 27-year-old male, with no fixed address, was arrested for driving without a licence or insurance, drug driving, and possession of cannabis. The motorcycle was seized under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act.

Arrest 2: A 33-year-old man wanted for shoplifting was identified and arrested on Station Road.
Arrest 3: Police witnessed a suspected drug transaction on Barnwood Road. A 58-year-old Gloucester man was detained under section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. Officers recovered a large quantity of Class A drugs and cash.
Arrest 4: Using powers under section 18 of PACE to search premises, officers arrested a 31-year-old man from Birmingham for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs after finding a significant amount of the substances.
These arrests demonstrate the police’s ongoing commitment to keeping Gloucester safe and tackling crime proactively.
