Police are currently investigating a suspicious fire that broke out in a Gloucester park near Kingsholm Stadium on the night of Saturday, June 27. Firefighters and police officers responded to the blaze around 10 p.m. in the area between St Oswald’s Road and Deans Way.
The fire involved a trolley and its contents, which authorities suspect were deliberately set alight. The blaze caused damage to a nearby conifer tree, fencing, toys, and equipment in adjacent gardens. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who was walking to an event at Kingsholm Stadium along Deans Way around the time of the fire to come forward. They are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who may have observed suspicious behavior in the park area during that period.
