Police in the picturesque Cotswolds town of Lechlade have stepped up patrols following residents’ complaints about off-road bikes causing anti-social behaviour. The Cotswolds neighbourhood policing team responded quickly to these reports, conducting visible patrols throughout the market town in an effort to identify those responsible.
PC Weston and PC Robinson focused their efforts around the river area, which had been highlighted by locals as the primary location for these incidents. However, during their patrols, officers neither saw nor heard any off-road bikes.
In a recent Facebook update, the team stated: “Following reports of anti-social behaviour involving off-road bikes in and around Lechlade, PC Weston and PC Robinson spent the afternoon conducting high-visibility patrols to locate those responsible. Although no off-road bikes were observed, we engaged positively with many members of the public who appreciated our presence and shared their concerns.”

Residents are encouraged to report any concerns by contacting the police via 101 or through their website. According to the Gloucestershire Police records, Fairford and Lechlade reported only one anti-social behaviour incident and one public order offence in May.
