Police in the scenic Cotswolds town of Lechlade have stepped up patrols following residents’ concerns about off-road bikes causing anti-social behaviour. The local neighbourhood policing team responded to several reports and launched high-visibility patrols around the town, particularly near the river where incidents were said to be most frequent.
PC Weston and PC Robinson led the patrol efforts, focusing on areas highlighted by the community. Despite their thorough search, no off-road bikers were seen or heard during their presence on the streets. The officers maintained communication with residents, many of whom appreciated the heightened police presence and shared their concerns.
In an official Facebook update, the team stated: “Following reports of anti-social behaviour involving off-road bikes in and around the Lechlade area recently, we have conducted patrols to locate those responsible. Although we did not observe any such activity, we engaged positively with many members of the public who welcomed our involvement in addressing their worries.”

Data from Gloucestershire Police indicates that Fairford and Lechlade recorded just one report of anti-social behaviour in May, along with one public order offence.
