Police Hunt Cheltenham Hit-and-Run Driver After Teen Pedestrian Injured

A 17-year-old boy was seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident on a main road in Cheltenham over the late May bank holiday weekend. The teenager was struck by a silver Volkswagen Polo around midnight on Sunday, May 24, near the A435 Cheltenham to Bishop’s Cleeve Cycleway close to Finlay Way.

Passersby immediately stopped to assist the victim before emergency services arrived. The boy was rushed to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, where he is being treated for a suspected broken ankle.

Gloucestershire Police are now appealing for information to locate the driver, who failed to stop or offer assistance after the collision. Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the vehicle driving suspiciously or erratically, or anyone with dashcam footage from the area, to come forward.
