Police Enforce Dispersal Order at Gloucester Retail Parks to Curb Anti-Social Behaviour

Police have issued a Section 35 dispersal order for Gloucester Quays and Peel Retail Park following a rise in anti-social behaviour reports. The order came into effect at 8am on Wednesday, December 10, and will remain active until 8am on Friday, December 12.

This action responds to a surge in incidents involving a group of youths exhibiting disruptive behaviour in the Gloucester Quays area. Under the dispersal order, officers have the authority to require individuals whose conduct is likely to harass, alarm, or distress the public to leave the designated areas immediately and to refrain from returning until the order expires.

Failure to comply—returning to the area before the order ends—can lead to arrest. Sergeant Liz Lovell of the Gloucester Neighbourhood Policing Team emphasized the community’s right to safety, stating: “Everybody has the right to live in and visit our city without fear. It is not acceptable for local residents and retail staff to endure any form of anti-social behaviour. Such actions will not be tolerated, and anyone violating this order will be removed.”
