Gloucestershire Police have clarified the reasons behind the temporary cordon on Cheltenham Promenade last Friday afternoon.
At approximately 1:30 pm on February 27, emergency services were dispatched to the area outside Cavendish House after concerns were raised about a man’s welfare. Upon arrival, officers found the individual and promptly arranged for his transfer to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. He is believed to have sustained a head injury, though the severity of the wound remains unclear.
Photos from the scene showed police officers securing the area on the Promenade near Cavendish House. The cordon was put in place to facilitate investigation but has since been lifted.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson stated: “We responded swiftly after reports concerning the welfare of a man on Cheltenham Promenade. Our officers attended the scene and the man was taken to hospital for treatment of a suspected head wound. An initial scene guard was established to enable enquiries, but this has now been removed.”
Authorities have asked anyone with information about the incident to report it via Gloucestershire Police’s online form, referencing incident 237 of 27 February.
