A man was hospitalized and later discharged after being slashed with a screwdriver in Gloucester early Wednesday morning, May 6. The incident occurred around 7:15 AM on Station Road, prompting a swift police response to the scene near Bedford Street.
Gloucestershire Police confirmed the victim, who is believed to have known the attacker, required medical treatment for a slash wound. Officers quickly identified and arrested Liam Johnson, 44, of no fixed address. Johnson has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and wounding with intent.
Johnson appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on May 7 and was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on June 8.
