Plans to construct a dozen new homes on the grounds of Oaksey Park Golf & Leisure, a nine-hole golf course within the scenic Cotswolds Lakes area, are scheduled for discussion at Wiltshire Council next week.
Developer Cotswold Ecohomes is seeking approval to build 12 two-story, three-bedroom houses crafted in traditional Cotswold stone. This proposal replaces an earlier approved but never constructed plan from 2005, which allowed for 12 holiday lodges as part of the site’s fourth development phase.
Initially, the developer proposed homes targeted at the over-55s, but following objections from Oaksey Parish Council—who emphasized a local need for family housing rather than retirement properties—the plans were revised to cater to families.

Though the project exceeds the threshold of five homes, which typically warrants the inclusion of affordable housing units onsite, Cotswold Ecohomes has opted to sell all houses at market value. In lieu of onsite affordable units, the developer will contribute nearly £350,000 to Wiltshire Council to support affordable housing initiatives elsewhere in the area.
The council’s planning department supports the revised application and is recommending that the Northern Area Planning Committee approve the development when they meet on Wednesday, December 3.
