Planning consultations open for new homes and developments in Tewkesbury Borough

Tewkesbury Borough Council has opened consultations on three planning applications, inviting residents to share their views. The proposals include detailed plans for 140 new homes in Ashchurch Rural, the installation of a rear balcony in Tewkesbury, and technical condition details for a site on North Street, Winchcombe.

All comments must be submitted by 15 October 2026 and will be made available for public inspection. The applications can be reviewed during office hours at the council offices on Gloucester Road, Tewkesbury, or online via the council’s website.

Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback, especially if they have concerns or could be affected by the developments. Responses should focus on relevant planning aspects such as design, heritage impact, traffic and access arrangements, landscaping, residential amenity, and environmental consequences.

The Ashchurch Rural application relates to a reserved matters submission, which seeks approval for specific details following outline planning permission. This includes aspects such as appearance, layout, scale, access, and landscaping of the proposed homes.

For smaller projects like the proposed rear balcony, key considerations include privacy and amenity for neighbouring properties as well as design compatibility. Proposals affecting shopfronts or similar elements are assessed for their visual quality and impact on local character and heritage.

Interested parties can submit written representations to Tewkesbury Borough Council, quoting the relevant application number. The council reminds respondents that all comments will be publicly accessible and advises against sharing personal information beyond what is necessary.

Further information and access to all local planning applications, traffic diversions, road layout changes, and licence applications can be found via the council’s Public Notice Portal or by entering a postcode online.

These consultations offer residents a chance to influence developments that will shape their local area in the coming years. Reviewing and responding to planning proposals remains an important part of the community engagement process.
